VOLUNTEERING WORK
Volunteer work is one of the many reasons why travelers come to Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. You can combine volunteering work with your Spanish classes without losing any study time. The combination of studying Spanish, volunteering, and living with a host family is the best way to immerse yourself not only in the Spanish language, but in Central American culture.
This program is available to students who:
Are at least 18 years old.
Are able to enroll in a Spanish course prior to starting the program for a minimum of 2 weeks.

VOLUNTEERING IN WILDLIFE CONSERVATION
Volunteering in wildlife conservation allows you to protect wild animals. Taking part in this project gives you the opportunity to work with endangered species, as you help them through their recuperation and reintroduction programs. Being a volunteer in this kind of project means doing your part to help the local wildlife. This type of volunteer work requires some payments to be made by the volunteer, which in some cases include accommodation at your place of work.
VOLUNTEERING IN AN ORGANIC FARM
Volunteering in an organic farm is a great way to lend a helping hand while gained valuable knowledge. More and more organic practices are being adopted worldwide thanks to their potential in terms of sustainability and socio-economic development. You’ll learn more about sustainable strategies and techniques to grow your own healthy and nutritious food. This type of volunteer work requires some payments to be made by the volunteer, which in some cases include accommodation at your place of work.
SOCIAL WORK WITH CHILDREN
If what you care most about is the wellbeing of little ones, volunteering in children’s social care is right for you. You’ll become part of the daily schedule of a professional team and contribute to their everyday work. All we ask is commitment, solidarity and interest in the project.
Work days: Monday to Friday – From 8 am to 3 pm.
API-AGRICULTURE PROJECT
Let's enhance the relationship between honey bees, humans and local crops, to make a positive impact on our environment!
Volunteering in a Api-Agriculture project allows you to educate the community about the importance and benefits of bees for humans.
You will engage in activities such as: developing an agriculture program, production of a variety of fruits and vegetables, and maintaining school gardens, with the aim of providing healthy food to students.
This program may require that you cover certain costs, in some case this may include cost of accommodation at your place of work.
